Lightweight.
Very light paddle brush. Feels cheap. Bamboo wood with light stiff plastic bristles. They feel a bit scratchy on scalp. Base of bristles that goes into the cushion has a tiny gaps where my hair gets caught and pulls. Not too much, still pulls extra hair out. On the other hand my old paddle brush does not rip any hair as there is no gaps at the base of bristles. Does the job in brushing otherwise. Cost is overpriced for the materials comparing with what you can get on the market and way better quality. This brush is good for travelling as it is very light and very stiff. Throwing it in any bag will not damage bristles or the cushion. My hair strands are super fine and hair is tail bone length. When wet, this brush can not handle the tangles. Only dry hair.

Big but lightweight, works great on long thick hair
This brush looks intimidatingly huge, but don't let that deter you. It's very lightweight and not tiring at all to use, in fact it is lighter in weight than my other brushes that are much smaller. I have thick, long straight hair and this brush detangles easily, going over a large area in one go. The bristles do not scratch. The wooden handle and base are beautiful too. Even though I can't fault this brush and it is likely to last a long time, I still think that $49.95 is overpriced for a hair brush that's made in china as the cost price would be much lower.

A lovely everyday brush
I just received this brush as my first and only (to date) Rewards Room order. I decided to spend the 500 points on this because I know that it retails for $40-49 which seemed like a great deal - and it is also the exact same brush as my hair salon of choice has used on me many times before and it had seemed great quality to survive there with such high use and was always quite gentle on my very long, thick and coloured hair (and sensitive to pain scalp). Side note: my hair has always tended to eat hair brushes alive! Especially the ones with the handles and head moulded separately - I can’t tell you how many hair brush heads have eventually gone flinging off across the bathroom floor after one too many knotty brushings out! I also hate the little plastic buffers on the ends of the bristles on cheaper brushes which wear/flick off, as then the brush becomes very uncomfortable and spikey and likely to drag and damage the hair cuticles (and your skin!). This brush is a choice good re both those issues as it is one solid piece of wood and the bristles are moulded complete with the rounded tips, so nothing should be able to fall apart with reasonable to heavy use. The rubber cushioned base is also much nicer and more gentle to use than a fully plastic moulded style as it gives you a ‘bounce’ factor rather than a ‘bump’ -even if used roughly. This also makes it able to be used on wet or dry hair and it’s supposed to help massage the scalp (which is thought to stimulate hair growth and thickness and spread the natural oils which make it shinier).

Beautiful brush but nothing out of the world
So the only reason I decided to try out a hairbrush as expensive as this is because of the Reward Room - and I am very glad that I bought it from RR. It's a really lovely bursh that not just feels good in hand but also brushes hair without creating any frizz. The size of handle is just right and the color of wood is so beautiful, you might get tempted to put it on a display ;) Even the most tangled hair are so easy to brush out and make smooth again with this design. I have loose curls and I can fearlessly use this without worrying about frizz. Having said that, while there is no fault, this hairbrush is definitely bit overpriced - probably because of the brand name. I love it and use it everyday but might not repurchase.

A life changer!
Wow! I have loose curls that dread way too easily and this brush has relegated the dreaded dreads to the past! It is incredibly lightweight and easy to use which is a plus as I have limited dexterity. My hair doesn’t snag as the sturdy plastic bristles glide straight through! I've tried boar bristle- no dice for my hair type but this works. It’s phenomenal to use on my daughter's fine har-she loves it. If I notice any signs of knots, I run my Tangle Teezer through my hair prior to using this. I will purchase for others.

Lightweight Feel - Rewards Room 2019
I received this from the Rewards Room May 2019! For a big wooden brush this feels really light to hold. Sometimes a big brush in my hand can feel heavy - especially after a while if I'm brushing through my long hair properly. This one is super and unexpectedly very light and bliss to use because of it's light weight. The bristles on this brush are plastic but they are quality plastic by the looks and feels of things. They are nicely rounded on the ends so they are kind to my hair and scalp. They feel good when I brush my scalp too with them. The plasticy-rubbery pad that they are connected into the brush with is flexible and a bit bouncy. I like the way this brush goes through my hair easily and emits tangles and knots when I start my brushing from the ends of the hair and working upwards by using downward brushstrokes. At first thought and glance I perceived this brush was a cheapo one as it had a little gold Made in China sticker on the handle (which I removed easily) but after using it I'm finding this brush does not feel el-cheapo at all. It is very, very nice to use and is gentle on my hair and scalp which I value. It doesn't seem to help at body but it does make my hair look neat, tidy and untangled. It comes in a natural looking cardboard packaging for the brushhead with the handle sticking out. So five stars for how beautifully lightweight this brush is. Usually only plastic brushes feel this light!

Brilliant Brush
This lovely brush has definitely stood the test of time. I have had mine for many years and it is still in perfect condition. I don't use it with heat, just for brushing, but with very fine hair I've had many brushes (of different cost) make my fine hair so "fly away" it's impossible to manage. This brush never snags my hair and it leaves my hair soft, untangled and totally manageable. I use it every day. I was a little hesitant to buy originally because of the wooden base but I have had no problem with it as I wash it and leave it bristle down on a soft towel to dry. It has been one of the best investments I've made and I have no hesitation in recommending it for anyone who loves a good brush.

Versatile & effective
This brush has been a great investment. It's gentle enough to use on wet hair but is a great follicle stimulator at night. I do 100 strokes every night! I have owned one for years & only had to replace it recently which I bought the same one again. Very happy with it.

Great brush!
I was given the brush as part of a promo because I bought the litre bottle of shampoo and conditioner at the paddington store. LOVE it! Good for general brushing, and even massages the scalp.

Wooden Paddle Brush - Wooden Brush
Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush | Rewards Room Review | Not something that I need personally
I had been eyeing on this brush for very long. I saw the excellent reviews and thought that, having long hair and LOVE the Aveda brand, it's something that I would enjoy. After redeeming this brush from the rewards room, I realised that this is not something that I need personally. The brush has a classy, wooden backing and handle. It looks luxurious, but oversized. It is also very light, which is something I didn't quite expect because of how big it is. While being lightweight has its advantage, it feels cheap. If I had paid the full $50 retail price, I would naturally have been disappointed. This brush cannot brush out wet hair. This is something that I did not think about before my "purchase". My hair is naturally straight - frizzy, colour damaged, but straight. I wash my hair fairly often. The only time that I really need to brush my hair out is straight after a wash. I have been using the a detangling brush, a super cheap one from Models Prefer too - and it just works. I also find that some of my hair get caught between the rubber base of this brush and the wooden base which is not nice. Overall, I didn't see the value in this brush but more because it doesn't suit my needs.
